West Bromwich Albion made it four Championship games without a win and just three points from the opening four games following their draw with Cardiff City on Wednesday evening.

Although still very early days, it’s a result that leaves the Baggies, who were once again tipped to be challenging for the title, sat in the relegation zone and fans are worried.

There was a barrage of negative reaction following the game on social media and no comments were more telling than Ryan’s, a West Brom fan who called up talkSPORT to share his feelings.

“Steve Bruce, shocking mate,” he told host, Jamie O’Hara. “He should have never, ever got the job.

“I know he’s tried and tested in the Championship but he just doesn’t know what he’s doing. [Jake] Livermore playing in every single game? The guy has been a good servant to the club but he just hasn’t got the legs anymore.

“It’s just a farce. Playing one up front at home every game. I was a season ticket holder last year and I’ve just given up. I can’t do it, I can’t face going to watch them anymore. It’s just toxic, the whole club is toxic.”

Although most don’t expect Albion to carry on languishing in and around the bottom three as the season progresses, Ryan believes the club are in real danger of ‘doing a Sunderland’ and facing relegation to League One in the coming years without a drastic change.

“I can’t do it,” he added.

“We still go to the odd game. I said to my son, I can’t face going up there because the whole club is toxic through and through and we are at the risk of doing a Sunderland.

“Over the next couple of years, West Brom could go down to League One, no problem whatsoever.”
