One of West Brom's summer signings has made a heartfelt message following a positive start to life in the Midlands.

Uros Racic has admitted that he is enjoying his football once again after a positive start to life at West Brom.

The 26-year-old joined the Baggies on a season-long loan deal from Italian side Sassuolo, and has played a role in helping the club reach the top of the table at this early stage of the campaign. Racic made his first start of the Championship season at the weekend, and set up the goal for Josh Maja to score as WBA defeated Plymouth Argyle.

The 12-time Serbia international suffered relegation with Sassuolo last season, and so a change in scenery has given him a new lease of life. Instead of playing in a side that was battling for relegation, he is now gearing up for a promotion charge at the Hawthorns.

“I started playing football out of love like most kids,” said Racic in a post on his personal Instagram on Sunday night.

“I have that exact same feeling for the first time in a long time.

“I look forward to every training and new match, just like every assist and goal.

“It’s such a great feeling being able to help the team achieve points in the most important of games. I would truly love to remain fit and healthy and allow for further great matches to unfold till the end of the season.”

With the departure of Okay Yokuslu, West Brom needed a combative defensive midfielder, and so far Racic has stepped up to the plate. He bided his time for an opportunity, and with Jayson Molumby potentially out of the clash with Sheffield Wednesday, he could get another chance to prove his worth to the manager.

Racic is under contract at his parent club Sassuolo until the summer of 2027. There was no obligation to buy when West Brom and Sassuolo agreed to a season-long loan deal in August.
