West Brom talks scheduled with Europa League outfit as £5m star added to shortlist

Beşiktaş have reportedly added West Bromwich Albion defensive midfielder Okay Yokuşlu to their summer transfer list, arranging talks with the Baggies ahead of a potential swoop.
The Turkish giants have joined fellow Süper Lig outfit Trabzonspor in the race to sign Yokuşlu, who missed just two Championship matches last season. West Brom would’ve found it very difficult to achieve a top-six finish if it wasn’t for Yokuşlu’s efforts at the base of midfield.

Hide AdAlbion may soon have to deal without their number 35, however, as his strong form has attracted plentiful interest from elsewhere. With just 12 years left on his contract, West Brom may have to cash in while they can – even if that means settling for a cut-price fee.
Sports Digitale journalist Sercan Dikme reports Beşiktaş, qualified for next season’s UEFA Europa League, are keen to take advantage of the situation, offering Yokuşlu a return to his home country. The midfielder has been added to the Black Eagles’ shortlist and talks are said to have been scheduled with West Brom.

Yokuşlu is currently representing Turkey at the 2024 UEFA European Championships in Germany, gearing up for a highly-anticipated quarter-final tie against the Netherlands. Discussions over his future are expected to wait until after the tournament, once the player has arrived for West Brom’s pre-season preparations.

Cédric Kipré is another Baggie widely reported to be of interest to a Turkish club as Trabzonspor are said to have held talks. The Ivorian was one of West Brom’s star players last season but is yet to agree terms on a new contract.

Hide AdOfficially, Kipré is a free agent as it stands as his Albion deal expired on June 30. Any potential suitors are allowed to speak to the player directly without West Brom’s permission. It awaits to be seen if there’s any chance of the central defender staying at The Hawthorns.
