West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion winger Jeremy Sarmiento on a season-long loan deal.

The Ecuador international was left out of Roberto De Zerbi’s squad for the Seagulls’ pre-season tour in the United States to give him the opportunity to find a temporary club.

Albion have swooped in and taken the opportunity to sign the 21-year-old, who has shown signs of top talent off the bench in the Premier League.

Although yet to score a senior goal for Brighton, Sarmiento was often in and around the matchday squad, competing with the likes of Julio Enciso and Facundo Buonanotte.

Able to play on either flank or through the centre as an attacking midfielder, Sarmiento is likely to solve Carlos Corberan’s headache caused by a whole host of injuries.

Formerly of Charlton Athletic and Benfica, the wide man has quick, skillful feet and should provide a spark in West Brom’s attack.
