West Brom transfer dilemma arises as surprise bid considered for 6ft 3in 'titan'

The latest transfer news as West Brom face a transfer dilemma amid interest from Premier League club Luton Town.

Luton Town are reportedly considering a surprise move for West Bromwich Albion defender Kyle Bartley before the January transfer window closes.

The 32-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, meaning the Baggies, who are in a precarious financial position, could be tempted to sell. Bartley has become a regular starter of late, though, and a departure would certainly leave a dent in West Brom's defensive depth.

The Telegraph reports Luton have placed Bartley on a list of targets late in the window as they look to add experience to help fight away the threat of relegation. The Hatters are set to follow up on their interest by lodging a bid sooner rather than later.

Bartley, who has returned to his titanic self this campaign, has racked up 185 appearances and 12 goals for the Baggies since signing from Swansea City in 2018. It's unlikely West Brom will be able to recoup anywhere near the £3.5 million paid back six years ago but any fee will go a long way.
