Everton are reportedly considering loaning out former Premier League Young Player of the Year winner Dele Alli, with a move to the Championship a potential option.

Once widely thought of as one of the best talents in Europe, the now 27-year-old has seen a huge drop off in recent seasons and needs a fresh opportunity to put things right.

HubFootballUK reports Dele’s future is currently undecided but any departure would definitely be a loan. It’s claimed a switch to a Premier League rival would be avoided.

The Toffees are said to be looking at the Championship or a division abroad as the two options for Dele if he is to leave Goodison Park on a temporary basis.

Although only possible if Everton were to continue to pay the majority of the player’s wages, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City may fancy the redemption story.

Both sides are having to work smartly with finances but it could be possible considering Everton likely would be loaning Dele to support a recovery, rather than for a financial boost.

In a recent interview with The Overlap, Dele spoke of the severe mental health problems he has suffered over the past few years – even citing recent rehabilitation.

Following the help he has received, however, Dele is now eager to prove himself once again and get to a level that’s even above his previous prime at Tottenham.

Making a move to the English second tier would certainly give him the opportunity to play regularly. It’s just the logistics that would need to be ironed out for any suitors.

When at his best, between the start of the 2015/16 campaign and the end of 2017/18, Dele scored 37 goals and notched 29 assists in 106 Premier League appearances.

His link-up play with the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min made Tottenham a force to be reckoned with. Dele will be hoping to reach those heights again.
