Chelsea teenager Omari Hutchinson has been left out of the Blues’ squad for the pre-season tour in the United States, according to a reputable report.

Now 19 years of age, the attacking midfielder is judged to be ready to head out on his first loan move. The decision to not take him to the US has been made to aid a potential switch.

The Athletic claims Hutchinson and fellow youngster Harvey Vale have “been left out of the traveling squad to allow them to concentrate on securing loan moves away”.

West Bromwich Albion will be on red alert as the Baggies were widely reported to have reached an agreement to sign Hutchinson in the past before a move fell through.

Carlos Corberan’s side completed no transfer business until the final hours of the winter window and moves for Nathaniel Chalobah and Marc Albrighton were seen as priorities.

Hutchinson could still make a belated move to The Hawthorns, however, with Chelsea now listing him for loan. Albion will face competition but the previous conversations will help.

Signed from Arsenal on a free transfer last July, Hutchinson has made two senior appearances for the Blues with minutes in the Premier League and FA Cup.

Already a full Jamaica international with two caps, he’s also recorded seven goals and eight assists in 21 Premier League 2 matches for Chelsea Under-23s.
