Reported West Brom target Daniel Nkrumah has been recalled by Leyton Orient from his loan at Welling United. The O’s have decided to bring back the youngster this winter.

According to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon, the Baggies are interested in luring him to the Midlands. There is competition for his signature from fellow Championship side Middlesbrough.

Nkrumah, 19, was on the bench for Richie Wellens’ side this weekend as they drew 0-0 with Barrow. The London club are currently top of the League Two table.

The teenager has been on the books at Brisbane Road for his whole career to date and has risen up through the academy there. He has been a regular for Orient at various youth levels over recent years and was handed his first-team debut back in September 2021 in an EFL Trophy clash against Southampton U21s.

Nkrumah has since made seven appearances in all competitions and was given the green light to head out on loan for the first time when Welling came calling in December to get some experience under his belt. He played four times for the non-league club and scored once before his deal was extended until the end of the season.

However, his time at Park View Road has been cut short now. West Brom and Boro have been linked and his future is up in the air with two weeks left of the transfer window.
