West Brom team news

Paddy McNair wasn't among the substitutes as his time at the club draws closer to an end. He joined on a six-month loan from San Diego, and that's due to expire on December 31. The 29-year-old was an unused substitute against Bristol City, and so it remains to be seen whether Chris Brunt will choose him.

Grady Diangana of course found himself on target against Derby County. He's been nursing an injury which kept him out for five games but having now played two games albeit from the bench, the 26-year-old will be pushing for a start.

Daryl Dike and Semi Ajayi are West Brom’s long-term injuries. Ajayi isn’t expected to play until February or March because of a procedure on his hamstring. Dike has had two successive Achilles injuries which have been serious, and as he geared up for a return he suffered a setback.

Sheffield United team news

The newest names to enter the treatment room at Sheffield United are Harry Souttar and Vini Souza. Souza came off at half-time with a hamstring niggle, whilst Souttar suffered an ankle injury in the loss to Burnley.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Chris Wilder said: “"Vini's hamstring tightened up as well. They are minor blows, there might be a big blow with Souttar because that didn't look great and his reaction to coming off wasn't good.

"He's a brave old soldier, but that didn't look great. So we'll have to wait and see what the results of the scans are. It doesn't look good, but we'll see what happens when the results of the scan come through.”

Anel Ahmedhodzic returned to the side on Boxing Day, coming on as a substitute in the final 18 minutes. He'd been missing for six games due to a three-game suspension and also an ankle injury.

In November, Oliver Arblaster ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and as a result will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery. He revealed in an Instagram he was ‘devastated’ by the setback but would be supporting them from the stands.

Tyrese Campbell remains a doubt after missing the last four games due to a hamstring injury. Jamie Shackleton suffered a foot injury against Plymouth Argyle on December 14 and is doubtful after missing the last two games.

Femi Seriki is also a doubt after picking up a calf problem in the reverse fixture between United and West Brom at the start of December. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi missed the defeat to Burnley due to a supposed hamstring problem. whilst Rhys Norrington-Davies was ill and Rhian Brewster wasn't feeling too good either.

Out: Oliver Arblaster and Harry Souttar. Doubt: Jamie Shackleton, Tyrese Campbell, Femi Sriki, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Rhys Norrington-Davies, and Rhian Brewster.
