The Cheltenham Festival 2024 is in to its penultimate day and all week there's been past and present footballers and managers in attendance.

A video has now appeared on the official page of Cheltenham Racecourse and it just goes to show how horse racing can bring all kinds of people together. Sir Alex Ferguson, at the front of the barrier can be seen next to former West Brom boss Sam Allardyce.

Ferguson's horse Monmiral who was jockeyed by Harry Cobden was the winner of The Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle during day three of the Cheltenham Festival. Monmiral was ranked at 25/1 prior to the race, and it is the first time that Sir Alex Ferguson has celebrated a win at Cheltenham.

The pair took in the moment and as Monmiral crossed the finishing line, Allardyce could be seen clapping alongside Ferguson. Close by to the pair is actor Alan Halsall who plays Coronation Street legend Tyrone Dobbs, he can be seen in conversation with Allardyce after celebrating with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Allarydce and Sir Alex Ferguson of course were rivals in the dugout when they played each other in the Premier League. The 69-year-old hasn't been in management since he was unsuccessful in preventing Leeds United from being relegated from the Premier League last season.

Before he took over at Elland Road, he was in charge of West Brom having succeeded Slaven Bilic. He had never been relegated from the English top-flight until he took charge of the Baggies, winning just four of the 26 games that he managed.

Bryan Robson, who played and managed West Brom was also in attendance. The 67-year-old played for the Baggies from 1975 to 1981 as a midfielder before joining Manchester United and then returned to the club in 2004, helping them to the Great Escape.
