West Brom have received a boost with defender Semi Ajayi saying he is feeling fit after struggling with injury so far this season. He has only played seven times this term but has provided this update to the club’s website: “I feel really good right now. It’s so nice to be back with the team and to be involved in training sessions once more. It was such a frustrating period for me, being out injured. I’ve never been injured in my whole career, which has been really fortunate, up until this season.

“I’ve never really missed a game, so to be out for as long as I have been has been really frustrating, especially when results weren’t going as well as everyone had hoped they would. I was itching to get back out there and help the boys, so to be available once again for selection is really pleasing. I can’t wait to get back out there.”

Former Baggies player Kevin Campbell believes their training camp in Spain during the World Cup break will be beneficial for the players and has tipped them to start rising up the table. He has told West Brom News: “I think it’s really important. You can get a lot of work done and bonding as a team and a squad. Plus, it’s important because of the manager – the players will get to know the manager and the coaching staff a bit better. He can really focus on what he wants and get to work on it.

“I’m sure West Bromwich Albion will kick on big time from the second half of the season and Boxing Day. It’s a really important time for them.“
