West Brom have tied up a new deal for youngster Harry Whitwell. The midfielder, who is 17-years-old, has put pen-to-paper on a contract extension running until the summer of 2025.

Tom Rogic and Daryl Dike missed out on the Australia and USA squads respectively for Qatar. Nevertheless, boss Corberan has heaped praise on the pair, as per a report by the Express & Star: “The only thing I can tell you is I am watching a very good attitude in both players.

“Because I knew both players had the possibilities (to go to the World Cup) and maybe for the reason you say (not enough minutes) the national team didn’t decide to select them. I am watching players really, really focused in the situation we are having right now.”

Birmingham City

Przemyslaw Placheta, who is on loan at Birmingham from fellow second tier club Norwich City, has been sidelined since August which has raised questions as to whether he could be recalled by the Canaries in January. Birmingham Live journalist Brian Dick has written: “He was brought to Blues to transition to a wing back but the emergence of [Emmanuel] Longelo – and the fact Blues couldn’t field all of their loan players if they were all fit, make Placheta a candidate for a possible return to Carrow Road.”

Football Insider claim Liverpool are in ‘pole position’ to land ex-Blues star Jude Bellingham. The midfielder left the Midlands for German giants Borussia Dortmund back in 2020.
