Ex-West Brom coach Ben Garner has been sacked by League One side Charlton Athletic. The 42-year-old was appointed first-team coach at the Hawthorns in October 2015 and later became assistant manager under Tony Pulis before leaving in 2017.

The Baggies hope to see winger Grady Diangana back in training soon, as per a report by the Express & Star, whilst defender Semi Ajayi and striker Daryl Dike have both used the World Cup break to boost their fitness levels.

Birmingham City

Birmingham have received a boost with Hannibal hinting that he will be staying until the end of the season amid whispers of a potential recall this winter. The Tunisia international has been a hit with the Midlands side since his loan switch from Manchester United.

He has told Goal : “I am currently playing for Manchester United, and my goal is to achieve any achievement with the best team in the world, I am in Birmingham until next June, and I do my best to serve the team, and I will return to Manchester United and I do not know what is in the future.”

Derby County are not expected to recall Krystian Bielik in January, as detailed in a report by Birmingham Live. The 24-year-old has played 13 times for the Blues this term.
