Bookies' new predicted final Championship table after West Brom's draw with Cardiff and Millwall win

With a quarter of the Championship season now gone the table is beginning to take shape with predictions being made.

West Brom's poor form continued as they played to a goalless draw with Cardiff City at the Hawthorns in the EFL Championship on Saturday.

The Baggies had the better of the chances and peppered Cardiff's goal with Grady Diangana forcing Jak Alnwick in to tipping his shot over the bar. Cardiff themselves hit the crossbar through former West Brom forward Callum Robinson, but found themselves clinging on to a point in the latter stages of the match.

Form dipped just before the international break and they've been unable to reach the high levels that they set earlier on in the campaign. West Brom without a win since defeating Plymouth Argyle 1-0 towards the end of September.

Since then there has been defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Midlesbrough, as well as draws with Millwall, Oxford United, and Blackburn Rovers. Carlos Corberan’s men have gone from leading the division to trailing Sunderland by eight points.

The other set of results over the weekend saw two six-goal thrillers. Preston North End led by three goals but surrendered it to Plymouth Argyle in the second half. Norwich City meanwhile drew 3-3 with Middlesbrough despite conceding a penalty and Kenny McLean being sent off.

Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to defeat Portsmouth, as did Coventry City against Luton Town. Burnley, QPR, Bristol City and Leeds United all drew a blank in their goalless draws. League leaders Sunderland beat newly promoted Oxford United 2-0, whilst Stoke City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United.

The other results included Watford narrowly beating Blackburn Rovers, as well as Millwall defeating Swansea City. The action gets back underway on Friday when West Brom travel to Luton Town.

We’re now a quarter of the way through the season, which is a good time to assess where everyone is at. Below is a fresh prediction of how the 2024/25 Championship will finish, after the latest round of results.
