Leeds United star receives 'no early bids' as Southampton transfer 'likely'
West Brom will already be preparing for next season as they look to go one better in their promotion bid. The Baggies reached the play-off semi-finals in the season just gone, but with Southampton and Leicester City gone, Carlos Corberan and his men will feel they have a much better chance of going all the way next term.
The Baggies will be among the favourites to bag a play-off spot heading into the campaign, but the Championship always throws up obstacles, and there will be plenty of teams looking to strengthen this summer. With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the rest of the Championship clubs.

Hide AdSummerville interest not forthcoming
Leeds United are yet to receive any formal interest in star winger Crysencio Summerville, according to the Athletic. Summerville enjoyed a superb season with the Whites, playing a key role in their promotion bid, and he has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs ahead of this summer.
Big price tags have been thrown about, but the report claims there has been no early interest in his services. That being said, Leeds know the next two-and-a-half months will be tough going in relation to them keeping their key stars, with the Yorkshire club reportedly needing to sanction a number of sales to balance the books after missing out on promotion.
Williams on Wood
Swansea City boss Luke Williams has admitted it is likely Premier League-bound Southampton are likely to come calling for Nathan Wood this summer amid an impressive campaign for the 22-year-old. Williams told BBC Sport: “As head coaches, you can see the quality of a player on the pitch but unless you have worked with them, it’s very difficult to get a grasp of their personality.
“Unfortunately, Russell has worked with Nathan Wood and knows what a gem he is. I know there has been [previous] interest, then when we played Southampton [in January] they talked about how much they liked him, which is normal. I guess that interest hasn’t vanished, so I would expect them to be at least one of the clubs who are interested in him now.”

Hide AdGloomy Blackburn outlook
Finance expert Kieran Maguire sees no light at the end of the tunnel for Blackburn Rovers fans who are unhappy with the Venky ownership. Maguire said to Benjamin Bloom: "Blackburn and Venky's, we have this conversation every year, nobody knows why they're doing it. They haven't attended a match at Ewood Park for around a decade. Do they have challenges in India? Yes, they do but the club still seems to be paying the bills on a month-by-month basis.
"What the long-term ambition for Blackburn Rovers are is open to question. My worry for Blackburn is that if you replace Venky's with someone else, are they going to be willing to put £1million in a month into essentially subsiding the club? It looks like a delicate position with Sam Szmodics. There will be people sniffing around in the Championship and elsewhere."
