West Brom travel to West Yorkshire to face Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship on Sunday afternoon.

The Baggies are on television for the third game in a row, and hoping to preserve their four game unbeaten run following their 2-2 draw against QPR on Wednesday night. Huddersfield played on Wednesday evening too and lost 1-0 to Cardiff City.

West Brom are hoping to get revenge on Huddersfield having lost to them earlier in the season when Neil Warnock was in charge. Here’s the latest injury and team news from both camps ahead of the televised clash at Sunday lunch time.

West Brom team news

Conor Townsend will miss the trip to Huddersfield through injury. He was taken off during the second-half against Coventry City last week and suffered a hamstring injury.

Brandon Thomas-Asante is a confirmed absentee. He is working towards a return as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

The feeling is positive,” commented Corberan about Thomas-Asante. We are going to manage him, the situation and the training we will now give him.

“Let’s say the best test is not going to be the scan right now, it’s going to be the work his muscle is ready to tolerate.

“When we understand it’s enough, then he will be back with the group.”

Matt Phillips could return after the international break. It is hoped he could return to training next week and then undergo a programme that would get him ready for the fixtures over the Easter period.

Josh Maja has been out since December with an ankle injury, and had a timeframe of four months when his issue was reported. He could come back in the Easter period too which would be a boost given the lack of forward options.

Jayson Molumby underwent an operation for a foot injury and is expected to miss if not most of the current campaign.

Martin Kelly suffered a calf injury as he tried to make a return to action, and is unlikely to play again for the first-team this term. Daryl Dike is out for the remainder of 2024 after re-rupturing his Achilles.

Out: Brandon Thomas-Asante, Conor Townsend, Daryl Dike, Jayson Molumby, Josh Maja, Martin Kelly and Matt Phillips.

Huddersfield Town team news

The Terriers have a few players sidelined through injury.  Jonathan Hogg was red carded for an elbow against Leeds United and missed the midweek defeat to Cardiff City. He apologised in the dressing room to his teammates, and should be available after serving a one-game ban following two yellow cards.

Young striker Kian Harratt is currently not in the first-team picture at the John Smith’s Stadium. The 21-year-old is suspended having breached the FA’s betting rules.

Josh Ruffels has endured an injury-hit campaign. The 30-year-old has been limited to 11 appearances this season and  has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with groin and hernia issues.

Yuta Nakayama is a doubt after suffering an injury against Leeds. He had to be withdrawn early last weekend and didn’t play against Cardiff. The Terriers are awaiting the results of the scans from an injury to his knee.

Centre-back Radinio Balker has missed the last three games with a quad injury but could return at the weekend. Rhys Healey is sidelined with a groin injury and is expected to miss the next three months of action.

Out: Josh Ruffels, Kian Harratt and Rhys Healey. Doubt: Yuta Nakayama and Radinio Balker.
