Carroll was released by Albion following the expiration of his short-term deal at the Hawthorns last season but now looks set for an unlikely transfer which could see him make his Champions League debut at 33-years-old.
Brugge were crowned Belgian champions for the 18th time last year under the guidance of another former Baggies man, Carl Hoefkens.
The reward for the achievement is automatic qualification for the Champions League, a tournament they have been regular members of in recent years.
Despite a stint at Liverpool between 2011-2013, Carroll was never involved in a Champions League squad with the Reds only qualifying for the competition the season after he had moved on to West Ham.
This means he could now make his debut in club football’s biggest tournament at 33 if the deal is completed.
The Geordie striker scored three goals in 14 appearances for the Baggies last campaign before being released at the expiry of his contract.
