West Brom have already done some business in the summer transfer window and there is more to come.
The Baggies have made three new signings for the first-team, mainly utilising the free agency market whilst also spending money on a player. Ousmane Diakite and Joe Wildsmith have joined on free transfers from TSV Hartberg and Derby County, whilst a £500,000 was reportedly paid to IF Brommapojkarna to secure the services of Norweigan centre-back Torbjørn Heggem.
Italian centre-back Muhamed Diomande has also joined on a two-year deal after leaving Wolves but he is regarded more of a signing for the under-21s team. A few players have left too with Zac Ashworth sold to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee. Josh Griffiths who was mainly second choice to Alex Palmer last season has joined Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan as he gains some valuable first-team experience.
In May, West Brom published their retained list and included some experienced players. Nathaniel Chalobah is the first to land at a club having signed with Champiosnhip rivals Sheffield Wednesday. Erik Pieters was let go and he's reportedly on trial with Luton Town having played in a behind-closed-doors friendly. Adam Reach and Matt Phillips are also free agents, as well as Martin Kelly and Yann M'Vila.
Cedric Kipre's contract has since expired and he's now a free agent, whilst Okay Yokuslu is subject of strong transfer interest from Hull City. More signings and departures are expected to follow as Carlos Corberan tries to assemble a team capable of achieving a top six finish again.
The summer transfer window is the longest period a club can sign players in, and everyone has their own way of doing business. Most clubs want to be sustainable, and want to keep their best players, but also want to sign some, and that sometimes means selling players for big money.
