Championship team of the week dominated by West Brom, Burnley, Sheffield Utd, Blackburn & Coventry - gallery

Here’s how the Championship team of the week shapes up for February 25 – as West Brom, Burnley, Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers and Coventry City dominate.

It was another thrilling weekend of action in the Sky Bet Championship as goals were scored in all 11 fixtures and there were no draws whatsoever. There were some huge results for races for the title and play-off spots, as well as some big ramifications for those at the bottom of the table.

One game that had a big impact on both ends of the league standings was at Turf Moor, as Vincent Kompany’s Burnley thrashed Neil Warnock’s Huddersfield Town by four goals to nil. Reading and Blackburn Rovers were the two other teams to score three or more as they beat Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers – both by three goals to one.

Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion gained a vital three points in their top six push with a dominant 2-0 victory against third-placed Middlesbrough. Daryl Dike’s swift double in the opening dozen minutes was enough as the Baggies held on for a comfortable win at The Hawthorns, putting their poor run to an end.

Elsewhere, there were plenty of 1-0s and 2-0s as Sheffield United beat Watford, Millwall were successful away at Stoke City, Bristol City earned a home win against Hull City, Luton Town got one over Birmingham City, and Norwich City won at home versus Cardiff City. There were also wins for Coventry City and Preston North End against Sunderland and Wigan Athletic respectively.

So many players impressed this weekend just gone that it would be difficult to select just 11 players to form a team of the week but, rather thankfully, WhoScored’s rating system makes things a lot easier. With that in mind, here are the best-performing stars based on WhoScored ratings. See below.
