How West Brom’s intriguing squad market value compares vs Sunderland, Cardiff City and Southampton - gallery

A look at where West Brom rank among the most valuable squads in the Championship.

The second international break of the 2023/24 Championship season is almost over, as EURO 2024 qualifying nears its climax.

England can qualify should they get revenge on EURO 2020 winners Italy at Wembley Stadium or if Ukraine fail to beat Malta. England’s old enemy Scotland have already qualified having not even played on Sunday as Spain’s win against Erling Haaland’s Norway booked them a place in Germany next summer.

Fellow home nation Wales meanwhile gave themselves a good opportunity to qualify after beating World Cup semi-finalists Croatia to move into an automatic spot.

Back to club football however, and we’re nearly at the quarter-mark of the season. The fixtures resume on Friday when Rotherham United host Ipswich Town in front of the Sky Sports television cameras, and for West Brom they face newly promoted Plymouth Argyle at The Hawthorn’s.

There’s already talk about when clubs plans are for the January transfer window with some teams needing it more than others.

Fans of the Baggies can’t be too excited as they didn’t spend too much in the summer transfer window. Some of their summer arrivals like Josh Maja and Jeremy Sarmiento have been sidelined with injuries, and so Carlos Corberan is working with what the squad he had last season.

Are there any players worth a bit that could be sold and bring in money to fund some spending in the winter transfer window? We’ve found the value of each Championship squad - provided by reputable website Transfermarkt - which factors in stuff as contract length and their current form. We have ranked all 24 clubs below, using the online figures.
