The summer transfer window has shut but that doesn't mean an entire end to teams doing some business.

It was suggested by West Brom Xtra that there were late moves for Ali Al-Hamadi and David Datro Fofana in the final hours of the window that could signal that Carlos Corberan is still on the lookout for a striker.

Josh Maja has started the season well and if he can keep himself fit then there won't be as much as a need for a forward. Devante Cole joined earlier in the summer, and once he gets himself up to speed, he could prove to be a decent acquisition.

Elsewhere in the West Brom ranks, Jed Wallace is capable of playing in the role, whilst you've also got Daryl Dike to come back from injury. It could be a case of waiting for Dike to return, and the Baggies riding out but should anything happen, there's still a good selection of strikers out there that are waiting to be snapped up.

Andy Delort

Algerian striker Andy Delort has been a free agent since leaving Qatari club Umm Salal SC in February. Most of his career has been spent in France where he was born, but there was a brief spell in England with Wigan Athletic, where he played 11 times but failed to score.

He's 32-years-old but boasts a record of 85 goals in 259 games in the top tier of French football. At his last club, he got 13 goals and six assists in 20 games which isn't a bad return, and he was the captain. It was suggested in May that French clubs wanted to sign him, but no move has happened as of yet. It's likely his next move would be back to France, but he’s still an option to consider.

Aaron Connolly

The 24-year-old is still without a club after being released by Hull City. At Championship level, he has 12 goals in 52 games, which isn't a bad return. Last season, Connolly got eight goals in 28 league games, and so he'd be a good option to have off of the bench.

According to Football Scotland, Celtic were considering making a move for Connolly earlier in the summer.

Isaac Success

Isaac Success had a spell in England with Watford, and was there for a few seasons. The four-time Nigeria international mainly played in the Premier League for the Hornets, but did play 10 times for them before before making a move to Udinese. He has only just become a free agent having been released at the end of August.

Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting

Another player with an experience of playing in England, however a drop down to the Championship looks unlikely. At 35-years-old, Choupo-Moting is a free agent after being released by German giants Bayern Munich.

The 20-goal Cameroon striker made the rare move in 2018 from going to PSG from Stoke City, and so for the past six years he's been playing for the biggest teams in Europe. Choupo-Moting has 11 Champions League goals in his career and has also netted 64 times in the Bundesliga.

Andre Gray

The 33-year-old is now a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Riyadh. His record for them was seven goals and three assists in 28 games, which is an alright return. Gray's return in the Championship is 56 goals and 20 assists in 146 games, and he's also tasted what it’s like to win promotion from the division, and also won the Golden Boot in the 2015/16 season.

Kemar Roofe

The 31-year-old is a free agent after being released by Rangers. Roofe was part of the Gers side that won the Scottish Premiership under Steven Gerrard, and a return to England could be a good move. Roofe was once on the books of the Baggies, and so he knows waht the club is about. Roofe's goal return in the Championship is 29 goals in 110 games, the most he has scored in any division.

Scott Hogan

Let go by Birmingham City after scoring just once in 26 Championship appearances last season. Hogan got double figures in back to back seasons in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 season, and so could he rediscover himself at the Hawthorns?

Famara Diedhiou

A free agent after being released by Spanish side Girona. He was on loan at Cardiff City last season, and got two goals in 16 games. Diedhiou was prolific back in the day for Bristol City, but the goals have slightly dried up in the present day.

Federico Macheda

Remember him? Macheda played a part in helping win Manchester United win the Premier League title with a late goal against Aston Villa. The 33-year-old is now a free agent after leaving Turkish club Ankaragucu. He had five goals in 28 games for his last club, but he has been away from England now for the last eight years.

He's had experience of playing in the Championship for Birmingham City, Cardiff City, Doncaster Rovers, and Nottingham Forest, and netted 19 goals in 63 games for those four clubs.
