The Baggies went in to the international break with a 2-1 win against Hull City which came on their travels at the MKM Stadium. It ended a run of eight games without a win and put them in fifth, which is where they were around this time last season.
West Brom weren't exactly losing games during their recent winless run, instead they played to low-scoring affairs, drawing six consecutive matches. Home supporters haven't witnessed a goal for their side since Josh Maja scored in the 62nd minute against Plymouth Argyle on September 21.
Since then they've witnessed a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough and then three consecutive goalless draws against Millwall, Cardiff City, and Burnley. West Brom in fact haven't scored many goals at home with supporters having only two goals to celebrate so far.
Despite the lack of goals, WBA still find themselves in the top-half when it comes to average away attendances. According to Football Web Pages, the league average is 21,882 and West Brom are above that. Home fixtures against Norwich, Sheffield United, Coventry City, and Bristol City are to come before Christmas, and there’s no festive home match till New Year’s Day, so try and get to the Hawthorns before 2024 is out.
With all that in mind, we have taken a look at the average home attendances of every Championship side so far this season to see where West Brom rank against their counterparts. Take a look...
