With £7m striker Daryl Dike sidelined for the foreseeable future with a “significant tear” to his thigh, West Brom are looking to sign a new forward, with Karlan Grant and out-of-favour Kenneth Zohore currently the club’s only striking options.

According to Football League World, the move is set to be an initial one-year deal, with an option to extend.

Darren Witcoop of The Mirror wrote via Twitter: “West Brom in talks to sign free agent Lewis Grabban. Turned down a move to Rotherham last week.”

Grabban worked with Baggies manager Steve Bruce on loan at Aston Villa during the 2017/18 campaign and now it looks as though the pair could be reunited at The Hawthorns.

West Brom sit 14th in the Championship after their first win of the new season, Saturday’s convincing 5-2 victory over Hull.
