Carlos Corberan is set to leave West Bromwich Albion for Valencia in a dramatic turn of events.

Corberan has reportedly reached a full agreement to leave West Brom for Valencia as the the La Liga club are said to have decided to activate the head coach’s release clause in excess of £3 million.

Several reputable reports in Spain this evening suggest Corberan has accepted personal terms to join Valencia until June 2027. Los Ches, currently 19th in La Liga and four points adrift from safety, are said to have convinced the manager with the promise of key signings in January.

Marca, TribunaVCF, ElDesmarque, SERDepValencia and El Chiringuito are just five of many outlets reporting Corberan’s exit is being finalised tonight. The 41-year-old appears to be on his way out of West Brom after a brilliant two years.

Fabrizio Romano, widely considered one of the best in the business for transfer news, has since confirmed Corberan is expected to sign his Valencia contract in the next 24 hours, returning to the region he grew up and still has family residing in.

Corberan has been a hero for his work at The Hawthorns. He led Albion all the way from a potential relegation scrap to a seventh-placed finish in 2022/23 before qualifying for the play-offs the next season. This campaign has started strongly, too, with West Brom a win away from the top six positions.

Formerly of Huddersfield Town and Olympiacos, Corberan has been heavily linked with a host of Premier League and Championship clubs in the past 12 months. Corberan’s been the favourite to join Burnley, Leeds United, Southampton and Leicester City all at different stages but he’s stayed every time. On this occasion, however, it appears this could finally be it.
