West Bromwich Albion had a heartbreaking end to the season as they just about missed out on finishing in a Championship play-off position, but the Baggies can now look ahead to next campaign.
It’s been a remarkable recovery job from Carlos Corberan so far and the Spaniard will be keen to add some additions to the squad to better West Brom’s chances of going one step further.
Financially, Albion aren’t in a very good position and so the free agents market may have to be where a lot of the new signings are found. Loans are another potential route, but players with contracts expiring soon will definitely be looked at.
With that in mind, we’ve taken a look across England and Europe at just over a dozen soon-to-be free agents who could theoretically make a move to The Hawthorns. Flick through the pages to take a look.

5. John Fleck (Sheffield United)
Expected to leave Bramall Lane at the end of the campaign after a seven-year stay in the Steel City. Goes down as a Sheffield United legend but is admittedly not quite at a Premier League level anymore. He’s still a good player, though, and has more to give at just 31 years of age. 6. Jack O’Connell (Sheffield United)
Another from the Blades, the centre back has been out all season with a serious injury and Sheffield United are yet to make a decision about his future. If he doesn’t extend, this could be a decent coup to sort out West Brom’s defensive woes. | Getty Images

7. Jeffrey Schlupp (Crystal Palace)
Versatile as either a full-back, winger or central midfielder, Schlupp has played very often for Palace this season, with 34 appearances in the Premier League. It’s unlikely but he could be replaced in the summer, with the Eagles looking to boost their squad under a new manager. Yet to agree anything to further his stay at Selhurst Park. | Getty Images

8. Axel Tuanzebe (Manchester United)
Many will have forgotten Tuanzebe even plays for United as he has spent the last few seasons out on loan, with the likes of Aston Villa, Napoli and Stoke City. The defender has been plagued with injuries and has only played four times for Stoke this campaign. He’s currently on around £40,000 per week but would likely take a huge cut for guaranteed game time. | Getty Images
