Jed Wallace and John Swift injury decision made - West Brom predicted XI v Swansea City

Here’s the West Bromwich Albion starting XI expected to take on Swansea City in the Championship this Monday.

West Brom begin their 2024 with a trip to South Wales to face Swansea City in the EFL Championship. The Baggies have been right at it over the festive period with wins over Norwich City and Leeds United, and now have the opportunity to make it a clean sweep.

The record at Swansea isn't the greatest and you have to go back to November 18, 2018 for the last time that West Brom won against Swansea. Swansea though are without a manager and have been for nearly a month, and with that situation still ongoing, this is a good opportunity for Carlos Corberan's men to inflict further damage.

Confidence seems to be high amongst the playing and management staff, and there is a hope that the takeover situation could be finalised to help give Corberan the tools to go and solidify the club's position in the play-off spots. A win for west Brom could put them level on points with Leeds United, whilst a win for the Swans would move them to 15th.

In regards to team news, club captain Jed Wallace came off injured, and is a doubt but we're tipping him to overcome that problem. He said in his post-match interview that it was likely to just be fatigue, but West Brom do tend to have a bad luck with injuries.

American forward Daryl Dike - injured since February with an Achilles problem - remains a doubt, but it can't be too soon now that we see him in Baggies stripes. Adam Reach and Tom Fellows have both been discussed as potential departures in January, but both should be on the bench.

The busy period of fixtures is almost over, and Monday's game will see at least somewhat of a breather. With all due respect to Aldershot Town, next week's match does offer the opportunity to rotate, and so we believe Carlos Corberan might not change much on New Year's Day. This is our WBA XI for their trip to face Swansea City in South Wales.
