Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of several clubs watching the progress of a wonderkid Ivorian winger.

Wolves are reportedly keeping a close eye on Bazoumana Toure following his breakthrough at Swedish outfit Hammarby.

The 18-year-old has scored six goals and made three assists in 16 Allsvenskan appearances this season, impressing in a side challenging for Europa Conference League qualification.

Swedish outlet FotbollSkanalen reports there are over a dozen clubs interested in signing Toure, including Premier League teams Wolves, Arsenal, Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace. The likes of Celtic, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica are also keen.

Every side mentioned is said to have sent a representative to scout Toure in action this year. With interest rife, it’s only a matter of time until Hammarby are tempted to make a sale - though the preference for now is to keep Toure on the books.

When asked about the winger’s prospects, Hammarby’s sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg was open and honest. “We need to plan for a future without him. If it happens this winter, next summer or even further than that, we’ll see,” Hjelmberg admitted to FotbollSkanalen.

“But the longer we get to keep him the better. Toure is more of a distinct winger, and has tremendous speed. He is extremely fast and has an ability to pass opponents with speed and finesse,” Hjelmberg continued.

Toure, who only joined Hammarby from Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas in March, still has four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract. Already three times an appearance maker for Ivory Coast at under-20 level, the teenager has a current market value of £5 million, as per Transfermarkt.
