Sheffield United closing in on £8.3m Wolves star after Stoke City breakthrough

Sheffield United are reportedly set to complete the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers right-back Ki-Jana Hoever on a season-long loan deal.
The Blades, eager to strengthen in defence following their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship, have gone with a proven figure. Hoever impressed during a second loan spell at Stoke City last campaign, racking up four goals and five assists in 40 league appearances.

Hide AdBBC Sport reports Sheffield United have reached a full agreement with Wolves and Hoever will travel to South Yorkshire by the end of the week. Medical tests will be completed before the Dutchman puts pen to paper on his temporary contract.
It’s a good deal for all parties as the Blades will benefit from the player’s talent, Wolves can continue to develop a player not yet in their plans and Hoever can take a small step up the Championship ladder.
The former Liverpool man can become a terrific defender if he continues on his current trajectory. He could even be the long-term replacement for Nelson Semedo at Wolves once the Portuguese eventually begins to lose his pace and energy down the right flank.

Even if Hoever never becomes a regular first-teamer at Molineux, Wolves are more likely to profit following successful loans out. Signed for £8.3 million from Liverpool in 2020, the 22-year-old is certainly an exciting prospect.
