Major Che Adams update after Wolves offer and Everton interest
Talks over Southampton striker Che Adams’ future are closer to reaching a conclusion.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Che Adams from Southampton this summer.

The Old Gold offered the Scotland international striker a contract after advanced talks but have since decided to abandon their efforts. Current club Southampton and fellow transfer hopefuls Everton will be delighted to see the level of competition drop.
TalkSPORT reports Wolves’ recent acquisition of Jørgen Strand Larsen from Celta Vigo has ended their interest in Adams. It’s claimed that Wanderers, despite still lacking depth at striker, are happy with the Norwegian as the out-and-out first choice.
Strand Larsen’s move has only been announced as a loan with an option to buy, but it’s stated that only a handful of appearances will turn that into an obligation. The 24-year-old has already agreed a five-year contract and will join for £25 million, unless he hardly plays.
Che Adams now has fewer options
Southampton look likely to extend Adams’ contract after first trumping Wolves’ offer and now seeing the Old Gold leave the battle altogether. Everton could yet spoil the party, though, as the Toffees have also shown a strong interest in Adams over recent months.

Sean Dyche’s side tried to sign the 27-year-old last summer - much like Wolves did - and they are expected to rear their heads once again. Everton will need to hurry if they are to make a bid but it remains possible with Adams yet to sign on the Southampton dotted line.
Adams and Strand Larsen enjoyed similar success last season, albeit in very different competitions. The former scored 15 goals and made four assists in 40 Championship matches, while the latter contributed 13 goals and three assists in 37 La Liga fixtures.
