Two Wolves transfers could be linked as Celtic and Liverpool renew their respective interest.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have received a second approach from Celtic for left-back Hugo Bueno, according to a reputable report.

The Scottish Premiership giants are eager on bringing the Spaniard across the border on a season-long loan deal, and talks are underway between the two clubs. Norwich City reportedly saw a bid of their own rejected this week.

BBC Sport reports Celtic have made a fresh bid after failing to sign Bueno on a temporary basis in January. It awaits to be seen how willing Wolves would be to let their deputy full-back depart, but no agreement has been reached as it stands.

Bueno, a Spain Under-21 international, has played 49 times and scored one goal for Wanderers since joining from Areosa in 2019. The 21-year-old is currently with the Wolves camp on the pre-season tour of the United States.

Games against West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Red Bull Leipzig await but Bueno’s trip across America could be cut short if Wolves accept an offer from Celtic.

Liverpool could influence Hugo Bueno to Celtic

Bueno would likely earn consistent starts in the Scottish top flight, so it’s a move worth considering for all parties. A separate deal could impact things, however, as Liverpool have been heavily linked with Wolves’ other left-back, Rayan Ait-Nouri.

If the Reds do decide to make a bid for the Algerian, then Wolves would have a dilemma. Letting both Bueno and Ait-Nouri depart at the same time would be unlikely as the squad depth would be hugely compromised.
