Several Premier League clubs are interested in signing a Portuguese wonderkid.

Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly among 10 teams eager to snap up Braga hot prospect Roger Fernandes in an upcoming transfer window.

A member of Braga’s first-team ranks since he was merely 15, the 18-year-old winger has enjoyed a meteoric rise in Portugal. Now a regular starter in both the domestic top flight and the UEFA Europa League, Roger has already racked up 52 senior appearances for Braga, contributing eight goals and eight assists.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo reports Roger has attracted interest from a whole host of top European clubs. Villa, Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United make up half-a-dozen in England, while Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax are also keen.

Roger’s progress is being monitored closely by every team mentioned as they seek to source the next best wonderkid success story. Born in Guinea-Bissau but brought up in Portugal, Roger is merely months away from being eligible to represent the Portuguese national team. That could lift his profile even higher.

Although no price tag has been mentioned, Roger would likely cost a pretty penny due to his increasing reputation and sky-high potential. The winger also has three-and-a-half years left on his contract, meaning Braga aren’t exactly under any real pressure to sell up anytime soon.

Roger is capable of playing on either flank - and he’s even filled in at left-back for Braga on a few occasions. His versatility, pace, flair and fiery personality make him one of the most exciting young prospects in Liga Portugal.
