Hide AdOur sister publication Express & Star reports the deal has fallen through for Chambers as Villa were unwilling to let the defender leave on a straight loan, with an obligation to buy desired. West Brom simply can't afford to agree to any purchase option as it stands.
Fellow Sky Bet Championship side Hull City were also interested in Chambers but reports in Turkey, the nation the Tigers' owner Acun Medya is from, suggest that won't be happening either.
Despite missing out on Chambers, who would've provided good cover in defence after Caleb Taylor's loan departure to Bolton Wanderers, West Brom have still finalised a Deadline Day addition.

Hide AdBirmingham World understands Celtic winger Johnston has passed his medical and is expected to be announced as an Albion player before the deadline. The 24-year-old arrives on a straight loan until the end of the season.
There is no option to buy the six-time Republic of Ireland international, who has scored two goals in nine Scottish Premiership appearances this season.
