Chelsea are set to finally complete their takeover in the coming weeks, months after Roman Abramovich put the club up for sale after 19 years in the English capital.

A large number of consortiums showed interest in taking over the club, but it was American billionaire Todd Boehly who won the race with hish reported £4.25 billion bid.

The LA Dodgers co-owner and his consortium - that includes Swiss businessman Hansjoerg Wyss - have a net worth of over £10 billion and will be ready to make their mark in the Premier League once everything is confirmed.

The arrival of Boehly comes not long after Newcastle United welcomed their Saudi-backed takeover that made them one of the richest football clubs in the world.
