Sunderland v Birmingham City injury news as 10 out and two doubts - gallery

Latest injury and team news ahead of the EFL Championship clash between Sunderland and Birmingham City at the Stadium of Light.

Birmingham City travel to Sunderland for the Saturday lunch-time kick-off in the EFL Championship.

Wayne Rooney remains on the search for his first win as Blues boss after two defeats and a draw. Birmingham had a two-goal lead against Ipswich Town after Jay Stansfield's 13th-minute opener and an own goal from Cameron Burgess just after half-time but Marcus Harness scored twice at St Andrew's to rescue a point for the Tractor Boys and continue Rooney's winless start.

The Black Cats meanwhile drew 0-0 in South Wales against Swansea City, but will be disappointed they couldn't make the most of the man advantage they had for more than an hour. Charlie Patino was sent off in the 30th minute, and then the ten-men Swans got a penalty but Alex Patterson saved Jamal Lowe's spot-kick to keep the score goalless, but neither side could find a breakthrough.

Sunderland are just outside the play-off places and a win could take them to as high as fifth, whereas for Birmingham a victory could take them to as high as 10th, however that is dependent on the result of the Lancashire Derby between Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End on Friday night. A total of seven places and five points separate the two sides, and neither side are in the best of form but Sunderland have stopped the rot after a string of defeats.

This is the final fixture before the November international break, and there are several in danger of a suspension. Both clubs have a combined three players missing this weekend through accumulating five yellow cards each, and others are walking a tightrope.

Flick through to see who's fit, who's doubtful and who has been ruled out of Saturday's match between Sunderland and Birmingham City.
