The Sky Bet Championship fixtures have now been announced for the 2023/24 season, including the thrilling opening weekend, traditional Boxing Day and Good Friday clashes, and the ever-so-tense final day.

Six weeks remain until the action gets underway on the weekend of August 4-6, but that hasn’t stopped broadcaster Sky Sports from making an early indication of which games they will televise.

Although Sky is yet to officially announce which games will air, the kick off times are in line with the usual television schedule for opening weekend fixtures.

Judging by the times chosen, it appears four matches will be aired live on Sky, with a potential for one extra if a 3pm Saturday clash ends up being moved to the later 5.30pm slot.

Sky seems to have made the decision to not air either of the openers for Birmingham City or West Bromwich Albion, instead going with new additions to the division – Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Leicester City, Leeds United and Ipswich Town.

Friday, August 4, 20:00 – Sheffield Wednesday vs Southampton

Sunday, August 6, 12:00 – Leicester City vs Coventry City

Sunday, August 6, 14:30 – Leeds United vs Cardiff City

Sunday, August 6, 17:00 – Sunderland vs Ipswich Town
