Steven Gerrard has been confirmed as the new boss of Aston Villa, after Dean Smith was sacked following a 1-0 away defeat to Southampton.

After three years in Scotland, Gerrard’s Rangers lifted a league title, finished top of their Europa League group and during the 2020/2021 season, went the whole season unbeaten.
