Here’s how the Premier League team of the week shapes up for the weekend of September 16-17.

The Premier League has returned from the first international break of the season in style with 19 goals in nine matches across the weekend of September 16-17, causing plenty of shake-ups at both ends of the table.

West Midlands sides Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers had contrasting experiences a the Villans came from behind to win 3-1 against Crystal Palace, while Wolves lost their lead to Liverpool and were defeated by the same scoreline.

Brighton & Hove Albion ended Manchester United’s 31-game unbeaten streak at Old Trafford with a scintillating 3-1 victory, whereas Manchester City also won by three goals to one as they completed a comeback at West Ham United.

Luton Town and Everton’s disastrous starts to the campaign continued as they both lost 1-0. The Hatters suffered defeat away at Fulham and the Toffees couldn’t hold on as Arsenal ran out narrow victors at Goodison Park.

Newcastle United squeezed past Brentford 1-0 to claim all three points but Chelsea were unable to find the net at the Vitality Stadium as AFC Bournemouth held Mauricio Pochettino’s side to a 0-0 draw. Nottingham Forest and Burnley play on Monday.

So many players impressed during the weekend just gone that it would be tricky to pick just 11 to form a team of the week. Thankfully, though, WhoScored’s player rating system does that job for us.
