Premier League team of the week features Wolves, Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham stars

Here's how the Premier League team of the week shapes up for the weekend of January 20-22, 2024.

The Premier League weekend just gone may have had reduced action due to the second half of the split winter break but that certainly didn't take away from the drama as 18 goals were scored across the five games played.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion endured by far the dullest fixture of the round as both teams shared the points in a 0-0 draw on Monday night. Even that was entertaining, though, with the American Express Stadium crowd treated to an action-packed game despite the lack of goals.

Sheffield United 2-2 West Ham United has to go down as the game of the weekend as Oliver McBurnie scored an extraordinarily late equaliser, netting from the penalty spot in the 103rd minute. Rhian Brewster and Vladimir Coufal saw red for separate incidents throughout added time, too, making for an exhilarating end to the clash at Bramall Lane.

Meanwhile, Ivan Toney returned with a bang as he scored Brentford's first goal in a 3-2 comeback victory over Nottingham Forest, Arsenal thrashed Crystal Palace by five goals to nil and Liverpool went on a second half charge to win 4-0 away at AFC Bournemouth.

Here are the 11 players who impressed most over the weekend, as selected by WhoScored's rating system.
