Premier League team of the week features Wolves, Man Utd, Arsenal and Brighton stars

Here's how the Premier League team of the week shapes up for the round of fixtures played February 17-18, 2024.

The tension is building in the Premier League, with every round of fixtures meaning more and more as the season gets closer to its conclusion. Four or five teams are still gunning in the title race, while the final spots for relegation and Europe are still unclear, giving this campaign the potential to go down to the wire.

Some big results this weekend just gone have thrown spanners in the works as Manchester City's 1-1 draw to Chelsea has benefited comfortable victors Arsenal and Liverpool, while Nottingham Forest's 2-0 win over West Ham United applies increased pressure on Everton and Luton Town.

West Midlands sides Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers both enjoyed 2-1 away wins in London over Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. The Villans will be thanking their local rivals for the favour of beating Spurs as the results have propelled them back up to fourth. Wolves, meanwhile, are now just three points off seventh.

Brighton & Hove Albion are the team currently occupying that final European place, helped by their 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United. Newcastle United drew 2-2 with AFC Bournemouth and Chelsea, albeit pleased, dropped points at Man City. Manchester United could be on a late charge for the top four after yet another win, away at Luton Town.

So many players impressed over the weekend that it would be difficult to pick just 11 to form a team of the week. Thankfully for us, WhoScored's rating system does the hard yards for us. With that in mind, here are the best performers in their respective positions.
