Here’s how the Premier League team of the week shapes up for the weekend of 3-5 February 2023 – as Wolves, Leicester, Brighton, Tottenham & Brentford dominate.

It was another weekend of thrills and spills in the Premier League to kick start February, with plenty of surprise results as well as high-scoring fixtures. The title race was thrown wide open before being closed ajar once more and sides at the bottom of the table finally began picking up positive results.

Everton, perhaps the most impressive side between February 3-5, finally managed to soar out of the long rut they found themselves in. The Sean Dyche era got off to a dream start against Arsenal as James Tarkowski’s towering header into the far corner handed the Toffees a famous 1-0 victory over the league leaders.

Meanwhile, Leicester City earned a vital three points in a 4-2 thriller at Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers shocked a struggling Liverpool side with a dominant 3-0 win at Molineux. That particular result was a huge one for Wolves, who have now motored two points away from the relegation zone despite being rock bottom of the standings just a few weeks ago.

Elsewhere, the title race was handed another twist as Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester City on home turf and Fulham held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw in the West London derby. Brighton & Hove Albion continued their fine form with a late Kaoru Mitoma winner against AFC Bournemouth, whereas Brentford rubbed salt in the wounds of Southampton, winning 3-.

So many players impressed this weekend just gone that it would be difficult to select just 11 players to form a team of the week but, rather thankfully, WhoScored’s ratings system makes things a lot easier. With that in mind, here are the best-performing stars of the weekend based on WhoScored ratings. See below.
