It was surprises galore in the Premier League during the weekend of March 11-12, with two or three shock results and some big movements in key areas of the table.
From AFC Bournemouth boosting their survival hopes with a famous 1-0 victory over Liverpool, to Southampton earning a point away at Manchester United, it was a decent week for those in the bottom three.
Leeds United came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion, whereas West Ham United earned a point at home to Aston Villa, holding Unai Emery’s side to a 1-1 stalemate.
Everton beat an in-form Brentford team 1-0 at Goodison Park to push themselves out of the relegation zone but it was not such a good week for Leicester City, as they fell to a heavy 3-1 defeat against Chelsea.
Tottenham Hotspur set the standards for the Champions League spots with their own 3-1 over Nottingham Forest but Newcastle United were able to keep up with a victory of their own, brushing Wolverhampton Wanderers aside by two goals to one.
It was a similar story in the title race positions as Arsenal and Manchester City both collected three points on the road. January signing Leandro Trossard did particularly well for The Gunners, notching a hat-trick of assists.
So many players impressed this weekend just gone that it would be difficult to select just 11 to form a team of the week but, rather thankfully, WhoScored’s rating system makes things a lot easier. With that in mind, here are the best-performing stars based on WhoScored ratings. See below.
