Premier League team of the week dominated by Aston Villa, West Ham, Newcastle United and Everton

Here's how the Premier League team of the week shapes up for the weekend of December 15-17.

Another round of Premier League fixtures has now come to a close and the title race has been thrown open even more than it already was.

Manchester City dropped points yet again as Crystal Palace came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at the Etihad Stadium, while Liverpool were held to a 0-0 stalemate by Manchester United.

Arsenal regained top spot with a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, while Aston Villa completed a chaotic comeback to win 2-1 at Brentford.

The Villans are now just one point off the summit of the table and could go top if they beat Sheffield United on Friday night.

There was a big result at the bottom of the standings, too, with Everton beating Burnley to climb further out of the relegation zone despite their points deduction.

So many players impressed this weekend just gone that it would be difficult to pick just 11 to form a team of the week. Thankfully for us, WhoScored’s rating system chooses it for us.
