The Premier League certainly hasn’t disappointed on its return from the October international break as 33 goals have been scored in nine matches, with one still to be played.

Tottenham Hotspur host Fulham on Monday Night Football but there have already been some brilliant fixtures, with movements at both ends of the standings.

Liverpool, guided by a Mohamed Salah brace, briefly went top with a 2-0 win over local rivals Everton but Manchester City regained first place with a 2-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Newcastle United moved into the top six with a dominant 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, while Brentford comfortably beat Burnley by three goals to nil on home soil.

Chelsea took a 2-0 lead against bitter London rivals Arsenal but couldn’t hold on as Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard scored late to earn Mikel Arteta’s side a vital point.

Nottingham Forest suffered the same fate as their two-goal advantage was pegged back by resilient Premier League newbies Luton Town, resulting in a sharing of points at City Ground.

West Midlands sides Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa enjoyed great success as Wolves came from behind to win 2-1 at AFC Bournemouth and Unai Emery’s side swept aside West Ham United 4-1.

Manchester United paid tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton on the day of his passing with a 2-1 victory away at Sheffield United, lifting Erik ten Hag’s men up eighth in the table.
