The Premier League has three live broadcasters; Amazon Prime, Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and together they pay the big bucks to bring world football's elite league to our television screens.

The current deal is worth £5bn and expires at the end of the 2024/25 season. When the deal expires, it's expected that there will be a significant increase when the rights are up for renewal, thus continuing its place as the most valued league in the world. As a result of the big money that they pay to the Premier League, they're allowed to choose what fixtures they want to show on television or streaming platforms, and in many ways dictate the fixture schedule. Some teams aren't happy, and Jurgen Klopp has shown his displeasure before at Liverpool playing on a Saturday at lunch-time after being involved in Champions League action.

Aston Villa's involvement in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season has meant that they've been a good choice for Sky Sports and their Super Sunday slot, as rules state they must play on Sunday after being involved in European action on Thursday nights. Some supporter bases believe that the broadcasters have their favourites when choosing games, whilst others would rather they would just leave their traditional 3.00 pm kick-off alone.

It does bring up the question however, how Aston Villa compares to the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Everton when it comes to how many times they feature on television.
