Birmingham City could be presented the chance to sign a player linked to them in the summer after he returned to Arsenal.

Omar Rekik was a reported target for Blues back in July according to Mahmoud Missaoui, a journalist for AfricaFoot. Local media outlets reported that Rekik was not on Blues' radar, however if there was any substance behind Missaoui's rumours, then they now have an opportunity to reignite their supposed interest.

Rekik ended up joining Wigan Athletic in the summer - returning for a second spell. He joined the Latics on a short-term deal until January 2024 and now the Gunners have decided not to extend his stay at the DW Stadium.
