New predicted Championship table forecasts play-off outcomes after West Brom loss, Norwich draw and Hull win

Here’s how the final 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship standings are predicted to look.

The Sky Bet Championship play-off fight is intensifying with just two fixtures remaining until the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.

West Bromwich Albion, despite putting on impressive showings, have stuttered recently with back-to-back defeats opening the door for other sides in the mix to close the gap. The loss at Leicester City was particularly painful as Albion outclassed the division’s best team but went away empty-handed.

Norwich City are the main threat to West Brom - especially for the fifth spot - as the Canaries have won two and drawn two in their last four outings. David Wagner’s men have collected four more points than the Baggies over that period, meaning the gap is now merely seven goal difference.

Hull City are still very much in the hunt following their huge game-in-hand victory against fellow challengers Coventry City. The Tigers, courtesy of goals from Jaden Philogene, Fabio Carvalho and Noah Ohio, have moved to within three points of Norwich and West Brom. They certainly cannot be ruled out.

Coventry, with an additional fixture in hand, can still mathematically finish in the top six but that would require two defeats for Norwich and West Brom, as well as three wins from themselves. Never say never but it looks as if Mark Robins’ side have too much to do this time around.

Which teams, then, are the likeliest to secure play-off qualification as it stands? And how is the rest of the Championship table expected to finish with fights ongoing for the title and surviving relegation?
