Man Utd bidder Sheikh Jassim’s staggering wealth compared to Newcastle, Man City & Aston Villa - gallery

Just how rich is Man Utd’s new potential owner Sheikh Jassim compared to Newcastle United, Man City, Aston Villa and the rest of the Premier League?

After being put up for sale by the Glazer Family in November of last year, Manchester United may finally have their new prospective owners in line, according to reports. It is expected that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, who has been to a number of games as a supporter, will make a bid.

Sky Sports News reports that a “delegation representing Jassim’s bid for the club will be at Old Trafford”, with some of his representatives also set to be present. The group will visit Carrington Training Ground for a look around, with Jassim “100 per cent committed to buying 100 per cent of United”.

United are not the only team to be entering - or have entered - a new era, as there is plenty of speculation surrounding the future of Liverpool’s ownership and Newcastle United were bought out by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund back in 2021. But where would a Sheikh Jassim takeover of Erik ten Hag’s side impact the rest of the Premier League?

From the least rich to the most, here is a ranked breakdown of the latest net worths of the current owners in the Premier League, compared to the astronomical wealth of Sheikh Jassim. See below.
