Jack Grealish reveals the ‘love of his life’ - but it’s not Sasha Attwood

Former Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has been in fine form for Manchester City recently.

The England winger produced a stellar performance against Liverpool on Saturday, scoring and getting an assist, as City continued their charge for a fifth Premier League title in six years.

Grealish was named man of the match on Saturday and received a standing ovation from the fans as he made his way off the pitch, while Pep Guardiola gave the former Aston Villa capatain a bear hug as he came off the pitch.

Following the win, which leaves Pep Guardiola’s side eight points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, Grealish revealed that he is loving his football again.

He said: “I love football, I love playing and training, and when it’s going well there’s nothing better. I feel back to my normal self, playing with confidence. I feel fit, scoring today and getting the assist is perfect.”

“It was brilliant,” he added, when asked about the team performance. “We knew it was going to be tough game playing against Liverpool. The first game after an international break is always difficult. We wanted to start it right, this last period of the season.”

It’s been a good season for Grealish in Manchester. He took some time to adjust in his debut season for the club during the last campaign. In a post on his Instagram page a few days before the game against Liverpool, Grealish posted an adorable photo with his pet dog, with the caption ‘loml’ (love of my life) - which you can see below.

Grealish also brought his dog with him when he signed his new contract at Aston Villa in 2019.

He treated his long-time girlfriend to a £5,000-a-night retreat in Cotswold January. The Sun said the trip to The Lakes by Yoo estate in the Cotswolds was to celebrate Sasha’s dad’s birthday. For the family trip, they had booked a five bedrooms lodge which could sleep up to 14 people and had a private beach.
