Aston Villa produced one of the performances of the season so far after Kortney Hause’s late goal gave Dean Smith’s men all three points against Manchester United on Saturday.

Hause’s glancing-header from a corner in the 88th minute was enough to earn victory at Old Trafford after Bruno Fernandes blasted an injury-time penalty over the bar for United.

Villa recorded back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time this season, and were well worth the win in Manchester after creating a number of good chances throughout the game while managing to keep Cristiano Ronaldo and co at bay for much of the contest.

Former Villa captain Jack Grealish wouldn’t have been watching his old side’s impressive display as he was playing in the other lunchtime kick-off at Stamford Bridge with his new club Manchester City beating Chelsea 1-0.

City’s statement win against the much-fancied Chelsea sealed a pleasing weekend for Grealish, with Villa beating his new club’s biggest rivals.

And the £100 million man reached out to his former team mates following Villa’s win, commenting on Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s Instagram post.

After Fernandes missed the chance to salvage a point for United by blasting his last minute penalty over the bar, the Villa keeper did a little dance in front of the Stretford End to tease the Old Trafford faithful.

Martinez also posted a photo celebrating the win on his Instagram account after the game, with Grealish commenting: ‘Emi you funny guy -well done bro’.
