A look at the latest managerial contenders for Leicester City as they prepare to face Aston Villa

Leicester City have parted company with Brendan Rodgers ahead of their clash against Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night. The Foxes have slipped into the relegation zone following their 2-1 loss away at Crystal Palace over the weekend.

They have a big decision to make on who to appoint as their next boss as they look to avoid slipping into the Championship. The 2016 Premier League champions are currently a point from safety.

Graham Potter has emerged as the early frontrunner for the vacancy following his sacking by Chelsea. The Solihull-born man will have to weigh up his next move in the game following his departure from Stamford Bridge and will be eager to reinstate his reputation in the game after a tough spell in London.

Rafa Benitez is also an early contender and he has been out of the dugout since January 2022 when Everton sacked him. He is a vastly-experienced manager and has also had spells at Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Napoli and Newcastle United in the past.

Other names in the frame for the Foxes are Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou, Bristol City’s Nigel Pearson and Blackburn Rovers’ Jon Dahl Tomasson, as well as the available Ralph Hassenhutl, Steven Gerrard and Jesse Marsch.
